Christian Louboutin showcases the cooler side of classics in his latest collections, infusing traditional men’s shoe styles with fresh energy and attitude. For Autumn-Winter 2014, the French luxury designer revamped classic brogues, oxfords and Chelsea boots with high-impact details. Exclusive fabrications and red soles appear across the collection, giving stylish men everywhere striking options for their most important accessories. Louboutin’s interpretation of polished city styles in the AW14 collection include Trepeter Flat, a classic cap-toe Balmoral shoe, and Capri, a wholecut leather shoe with a buckle over the throat. These handmade shoes feature naturally coloured leather, hand-painted and -polished for an elegant effect. Some of the collection’s most spirited combinations of textures, prints and fabrics appear in Olympio and Education, with their wingtip detailing and vibrant colours. For boots, Louboutin created Toerless, a cap-toe boot with brogue detailing and buckles over the laces. Men interested in a sleek style can look to Antonio, a Chelsea boot in rich cognac, navy and chestnut-brown leathers. In addition to these classic designs, Louboutin furnished Jonathan Saunders and E. Tautz with shoes for their SS15 men’s shows during London Collections: Men. For Saunders, Louboutin crafted modern loafers and high-gloss utility boots. E. Tautz’s models wore streamlined suede derbies and strappy high- top trainers. www.christianlouboutin.com 30.07.2014
